Potted Succulents Are Best For Indoor Spaces

Succulent plants are considered to be some of the most beautiful plants in the world. They are custom-made for indoor gardening. These hardy plants can thrive for long periods in poor conditions. Succulents are some of the most rewarding plants for indoor gardeners because they are tough, beautiful and at the same time have interesting varied foliage. Any plants with thick fleshy water storage organs is technically considered to be a succulent. They store water in their leaves, stems or roots, which make them adapt to arid conditions in a long period of time. As we all know, houseplants absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen during photosynthesis, clean the air of volatile organic compounds, and even reduce stress.

Our own collection of potted succulent plants at home were all just given to us during our housewarming party when we first moved in to our new home. These houseplants are a great way to keep our green thumb happy during the dreary winter or rainy months. They are easy to care for especially in containers. Nowadays, people are becoming too busy for work and some do not have enough space for gardening. That is the reason why, succulents are proven to be a gardener's best friend and they are the new found plants for today's consumer. No matter what species of succulents you are growing, they all have similar rules between the different specie.

Succulents prefer bright light and they are much more tolerant to colder temperature. They should also be watered generously especially during summer days. Over watering may lead to soft and discolored succulents. On the other hand, an under watered succulents may stop growing and soon will shed leaves. You should generously put fertilizer during summer an stop entirely during winter season. Always remember these simple ways to care for your potted succulents and for sure you will soon have your own succulent garden at home.

Care For Your Jade Bonsai Plant

Taking care of your garden is also like taking care of your own child, you must give them your time and effort as well as tender, love and care especially those who require much attention like the succulent plants that I have indoors. But there is that one plant which I also received during our housewarming party and until now is very healthy and does not wither or die easily. And I have learned through my friends that it is actually an extremely popular succulent houseplant, most of my friends and neighbors have these type of plant. It is sometimes called as the money plant or dollar plant and it was once though to bring good luck to their owners, that is the reason why they were often given as housewarming gifts.

The plant is commonly known as the Jade plant, it is inexpensive, fast-growing, under demanding and amazingly resilient plant which is usually available at most garden outlet center, and local nurseries. Although these jade plants are very easy to grow they are also very susceptible to mealy bugs and fungal diseases , so the owner or the care taker of the plant must make sure that it is watered properly and has enough sunlight for these fungal problems not to worsen. This type of plant is commonly grown indoors and excels as one, it can also survive for decades in the same pot as long as not over watered too often. However, it is recommended to change the soil every 2 to 4 years because the soil needs to be very well draining.

You must always remember to never let your jade plant sit in the water and with proper conditions, the Jade plant will soon have white flowers making it an attractive and mildly fragrant display. Also, from time to time gently wipe the leaves of Jade plants to remove the dust and like all houseplant it adds oxygen to the room or house and helps clean the air.
